How SideClue handles your data

SideClue is built for live coaching without a meeting bot or cloud recording. Here is exactly what stays on your machine and what leaves as text.

Stays on your machine

Audio capture, speech-to-text processing initiated locally, and the overlay display all run on your desktop. Raw audio is not uploaded or stored in the cloud.

Leaves your machine (text only)

Live transcripts are sent over HTTPS to SideClue's coaching service so the AI can generate suggestions during your call. This is text only — not audio.

Never collected

We do not collect audio files, video, participant names, or screen recordings. SideClue does not join your meeting as a bot.

Retention

Session transcripts are stored locally on your device for your session history. There is no team or cloud storage of your call content yet.

FAQ

Can other call participants tell I'm using SideClue?

No. SideClue runs as a private desktop overlay on your screen. It does not join the call, show up in participant lists, or send anything visible to other attendees.

Does SideClue record the call?

SideClue does not record audio to the cloud. Audio is processed in real time on your machine for transcription. Session history keeps text locally on your device.

Who sees my transcripts?

Transcripts are sent to SideClue's coaching service over an encrypted connection to generate suggestions during your session. They are not shared with your team or stored in a shared cloud archive today.

Is SideClue compliant with call recording laws?

SideClue is a coaching tool, not a call recorder. You are responsible for following the laws and policies that apply to your calls and jurisdiction. Because SideClue does not record or store audio in the cloud, it is designed differently from traditional recording tools.
